My knowledge of running a home daycare. I have been an early childhood care educator for the past 17 years. I choose daycare as a career because there is no job in the world more important than early education and it’s fun!
Do you think a career in childcare is for you?
Some information on starting a daycare.
You must follow, the adult -child – ratio and recommended space guide.
Ministry of Education – TT https://storage.moe.gov.tt › G…PDF guidelines
What do you need?
Before you open, it’s important that you have a contract and policies. The policy should include your rules, and payment – you don’t want to struggle with getting paid.
You need to have a schedule and things for the children to do, educational toys, games, daycare activities etc.
Here is a list of my favorite things.
- Step stools, cribs, cots, table & chairs, first aid kit, toys, high chair, baby gates & toddler toilet seat.
When making a list of what you need try and think of every situation big or small, so that you can prepare and have those things on hand. You really don’t know what’s going to happen throughout the day but you want to be prepared.
When I started in this field, I would have been so happy to have these helps to start and run my own daycare.
I hope you got some helpful tips, remember to take care of yourself so that you can take care of others!
