The Children’s Daycare Association of Trinidad and Tobago is a non-profit organization founded by Mrs. Brathwaite in 2023.
As a daycare owner (Blue Sky Academia), she observed daycares in Trinidad and Tobago had very limited rules and instructions to follow for child care. There were no regulations in Trinidad and Tobago, which often meant standards for child care were dropped.
She joined forces with fellow female daycare owners, Mrs. Adonna Hughes (Gentle Scholars Academy), and Ms. Chantel Mayers (Early Steppers Academy) to form the association.
They all recognized the dire need to offer parents and families a safe place and quality service to locate daycares and babysitters in their area.
The Children’s Daycare of Trinidad and Tobago is committed to providing leadership support to daycare centers across the country while promoting the highest standards of childcare by promoting professional development, fostering best practices, and advocating for policies that prioritize the needs of children, their families and childcare providers. We strive to empower members with the resources, training, and networks to deliver comprehensive and age-appropriate programs.
Through collaboration with local, regional, and international stakeholders. We seek to influence policy and create an enabling environment that recognizes the value and importance of childcare in building a prosperous and inclusive society.
The Children’s Association of Trinidad and Tobago envisions a society where every child has access to high-quality childcare by providing extensive support to its members.
We strive to create a nurturing environment that promotes the wholistic development of service providers within the industry, ensuring their overall well-being, through advocacy, we aim to be the leading voice on advancing the standards of daycare & night care services in Trinidad and Tobago, for the benefit of children, parents & childcare institutions.

When it comes to child care, the most important consideration for parents is whether they trust the daycare/babysitter that they will be sending their little ones to. After all, your child is the most important thing in the world. The last thing you want as a parent is to be stressed throughout the day because you’re not sure if your child is in safe hands.
